Although recorded in 2002 and achieving a cult following among vocal fans, 'One Good Reason', the debut album by jazz vocal supergroup The Passion received it's official commercial release in 2008
The album, which features the vocal talent of three of Britain's finest sngers, Jacqui Dankworth, Liane Carroll and Sara Colman, has only ever been available at concerts and has bcome a classic british underground jazz favourte amongst those lucky enough to hav picked up a copy. And to think that the group was founded over ten years ago after a booking error that meant that three singers turned up to perform a duet!
The record features mostly original songs written by one or more of the trio and some wonderful arrngements of songs by writers Laura Nyro, Fran Landesman and Loudon Wainwright III including the quirky 'Swimming Song" that was previewed on the BBC Radio 2 show 'Michael Ball's Sunday Brunch' to great public acclaim.
